Chakra’s: what they are and how they work

Do you know what Chakra’s are and how do they work?

In order to understand how our organs work and because in some life situations we do not understand some attitudes or situations, understanding the meaning of the Chakras can help us.

What are Chakras? From the Sanskrit origin, the word Chakra means “wheel of light”. In this sense, they represent the energy centers connected with our body. Each Chakra has a direct relationship with some organ of the body. There are many Chakras, but seven are the main ones.

The main Chakras

In therapy in Reiki are worked the seven Chakras. Each has a color and are located at the base of the spine to the top of the head. The main function of Chakras is to absorb energy from the sun ( prana ), to feed the aura energetically and spiritually.

What are chakras?Basic Chakra or First Chakra: This chakra is located in the spine and represents the connection of the human being with the planet Earth. Represented in red color, this basic chakra the more open, the better the energy (arrangement). What it means: our ability to deal with money, the way of life and achievements of ideas.

Umbilical or Second Chakra: This chakra is located in the lower abdomen, covering the whole region where the genitals are located. At this location, energy is responsible for desires, emotions, pleasure, sexuality, care. This chakra is represented by the color orange, the more open, the better our ability to become sentient and emotional beings. And it also shows us that we know how to deal securely with feelings.

Chakra Solar Plexus or Third Chakra: It is the chakra of self-expression, more related to our personality. Represented in the yellow color, this chakra shows the relation of the will with the power. When there is an imbalance in this chakra, we can clearly perceive that the person is envious, suffers from an inferiority complex. The well balanced and open chakra shows the person’s self-confidence.

Cardiac Chakra or Fourth Chakra: It is the chakra of the heart, responsible for the love we feel for others and for ourselves. It is also the chakra of gratitude and generosity that is not limited only to love for the other person, but for all humanity. Represented in green color, this chakra shows our balance. And it is also responsible for uniting all the chakras, serving as a “bridge”.

Laryngeal Chakra or Fifth Chakra: This chakra is situated in the throat and represents communication and creativity. Represented in light blue color, when well-balanced shows the clarity and understanding of the person when talking, being willing to listen and speak. When closed, it makes the person unable to express himself and causes vocal disturbances.

Front Chakra or Sixth Chakra: Known as the chakra of the third eye, it is connected to intuition. Represented in the indigo blue color, when well balanced makes us more secure and connected.

Coronary or Seventh Chakra: Represented by the lotus flower in violet color, it is situated on the head and shows our identification with a greater being, or rather, a spiritual plane. This is the channel that connects us to meditation and Reiki energy. When closed, it impacts on nervous diseases and shows open our spirituality.

How do the Chakras help our way of thinking?

The chakras represent our vibration, both physical and mental. When you are not physically fit or in pain, it is most likely that some chakra is closed. The same happens with negative thoughts and feelings when we feel this way we end up blocking the chakras even more.

To change attitudes, beliefs, and thoughts, we must know our chakras well. Only in this way is it possible to balance oneself in the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental body and to find the harmony that resides within us.
